Fishtails and Feathers at the Golden Globes 2012

Well, we always knew Spring/Summer 2012 was going to be a fishy one! But in all seriousness, last night’s Golden Globes showcased two of the big trends for the coming season: Feathers and Mermaid Silhouettes.

Feathers were seen on the catwalk at Louis Vuitton, Jason Wu and Ralph Lauren. Will you be ruffling some feathers this season? Or is this trend a no-go outside of the red carpet?

My Current Obsession – The Céline Boston Tote

By OMB!’s Amy.

I’m in love…with a handbag (again). The Céline Boston Tote is the perfect bag. Phoebe Philothe mastermind behind the Chl Paddington – first presented the tote at the Céline S/S 2010 show.  The bag was an instant hit with fashion editors and celebrities alike.

Leighton Meester has been spotted with a large Boston Tote

The Boston Tote is structured, oversized and modern. But the tote is still simple in shape. Some critics have stated that Philo’s creation looks like a robot’s face. Yet, this adds to be appeal for me. This self-confessed accessories lover genuinely thinks it looks cute.

Céline have since realised the tote in five sizes, which all come in a variety of colours and fabrics – from blue suede to leopard print.

The only downside – this bag isn’t cheap or even vaguely affordable.  The price tag for the medium tote is around £1400. My new savings account a.k.a. ‘The Céline Boston Tote Fund’ has been opened…only £1100 more to go before this bad boy is mine…sigh.

Like short shorts? Like Bambi&Manson!

Bambi&Manson. A label run by a girlfriend and boyfriend pairing that between them have provided the world with some pretty darn cool shorts. Not heard of them? Oh, you will. The likes of Gabriella Ellis and Amy Childs are already fans, and the shorts also featured in January’s issue of Cosmo.

Prices range from £40 – £50, whilst custom designs (customised!!! eek) cost more. As Bambi&Manson would say… Shorts are for life, not just for summer.

Trending – #Nailart. Nail it.

This season nail art is due to be bigger than ever, metallics, glitter, patterns, prints, finger-nail sized studs (K$sha) – you name it, and someone’s wearing it on their nails. Bored of the cracked effect that everyone’s sporting at the moment? Read on for OMB!’s top tips for nailing nail art.

1) Glitter. The easy go-to if everything else seems a bit complicated or risqué.

2) Nail wraps. For smooth metallics and fuss-free patterns try nail wraps.

3) Stamps. You may not have heard of Moyou or Konad. Use the stamper to pick up nail paint from the stencil plate and voila – stamp it across your nail. A little tricky to use, but fab once you get the hang of it. And the metal plates are  reusable.

4) Magnetic metallics. These nail polishes contain metallic particles that, with the use of magnets, form a pattern on the nail.

Ladies and Gentlemen… introducing David Beckham for H&M

Comfort and fit are the main selling points according to Beckham. Yep, comfort is exactly what we’re focusing on whilst looking at the photos released today of his nine-piece collection of bodywear. Not his abs. Sure.

The collection hits stores on February 2nd and marks an ongoing partnership between David Beckham and H&M.
