The temperatures are dropping and those festive Coca-Cola ads are back on our televisions… yup, winter is here. If like me, your toes have lately been feeling like they’re about to drop off (if you can feel them at all) then you’re probably scouring the high street for a good pair of boots.
The perfect boots would of course be heeled (feminine) but not a 4 inch stiletto heel (ridiculous), compatible with jeans and dresses, and warm (real leather helps). Sound difficult to find?
Here are a few OMB! favourites…
Ted Baker £165
River Island £70
Have a browse through the high street, and you’ll find that sequins are everywhere. If you have been traumatised by images of Kat Slater strutting through Albert Square in a sequin mini and knee high leather boots (it’s okay, we understand), then the time has come to think again. This season, sequins are sophisticated. Add a touch of glamour to your winter wardrobe with some of these sparkling beauties!
Art deco top, New Look, £24.99 Sheer sleeve sequin Tee, Topshop. £48
Lace dress with sequins, Sister Jane. £95
Week 1: JARLO
1. CHARLOTTE £59
2. PATSY £62
3. EMILY £65
4. SYLVIA £65
5. TRIXIE £59
So, I was on a recent shopping trip with our lovely Beauty Editor Amy, when she randomly (as she does), she turns to me and says ‘You know what I want, I really want a black and white blazer. You know… with the trimming?’ At first, I honestly had no idea what she meant. And yet in every shop I couldn’t help but search for this ambiguous, but undoubtedly fabulous, jacket. Which, gave me an idea for a blog feature.
Girl seeking? I’ll find.

If you haven’t heard of either MIC or TOWIE, and haven’t spent the last few years in a coma, then my-oh-my do you have some catching up to do. Given the trending status of said shows, OMB! takes a look at Millie Mackintosh’s steady climb to style icon status and explains why she is a lady worth watching.
Ms Mackintosh never fails to look a shopping trip away from Chelsea and yet (as she recently revealed to Grazia magazine) she does not shy away from the high street, nor is afraid to be seen wearing the same shoes twice .
All in all, as any fashionista/stylist would agree, a lot can be learnt from the MIC star. 1) Keep an eye out for the gems on the high street that don’t look high street, and 2) when on a budget, buy one great pair of shoes or a jacket that will last you all season and add some chic to any outfit. The second season of Made in Chelsea airs Mondays at 10pm on E4.
